One of the best ways to serve the Chamber and the
community is to become involved in one of the Chamber's
committees. The following is a list of current committees
and their responsibilities. Please contact the Chamber
office at (815) 338-2436 to volunteer or request additional
information.

1.
Finance Committee- Meets once a month to
discuss current Chamber finances and determine
where/if/when cuts or additions are to be made
to the Chamber budget. Focus will on the financial
status of the operating expenses and income
for each month, providing insight and leadership
to achieving and exceeding budgetary goals.
This committee must be made up of the Executive
Chamber Board. Additional members are to the
discretion of the Exec Board.
2. Programming
Committee- Meets once a month with the
Committee Chairs of each program/event associated
with the WCCI. The Programming Committee will
guide Chairs with direction regarding budget,
ensuring at least a break-even financial status.
The Programming Committee will also inform
the Chamber staff and/or BOD with event information,
issues or questions an Event Chair may have.
The Programming Committee is responsible for
managing the Chairs and determining if the
events are successful and worthy of the Chambers
valuable resources. Will consider each event
from start to finish, with the input of the
event chair, ensuring proper production or
recommending a search for partner, co-sponsor
or if the event should be cancelled. The Programming
Committee will establish Event Chairs for the
events as determined by the Executive Director.
The Executive Director will also aid in these
decisions. Atleast one Board Member will reside
on this committee.
3. Education/Leadership
Committee- Meets once a month to discuss
current events within D200 and MCC. The Education
Leadership Committee with work with the Dollars
for Scholars scholarship committee, ensuring
donors and communication with businesses and
the schools. The Education Leadership Committee
will also secure workshops and education forums
for the general membership. The programs may
be one day or a series of multiple topics.
The Executive Director will lend guidance on
the selection of dates and topics. The Education
and Leadership Committee will also work with
the membership on related subjects that will
enhance business or relationships in the community.
This committee is very influential on the value
added factor the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce
membership. Atleast one Board Member will reside
on this committee.
4. The Retail
Committee- Meets atleast once a month.
The Retail Committee must consist of retailers
on, off, and around the Woodstock Square, ensuring
a cross-section of our retail members. The
Retail Committee will be responsible for communicating
with the retail community upcoming events and
opportunities that will affect their business.
The Retail Committee will continue to pursue
advertising and marketing campaigns and work
with the local tourism groups. The Retail Committee
is the link between the Chamber, the City and
the Retailers. The Retail Committee will also
work with IRMA, through the Chamber, providing
retailers with special programming and informing
retailers of any changes or happenings. The
Retail Committee Chair will work with the Programming
Chair and the Leadership Education Chair on
events and education forums. Atleast one Board
Member will reside on this committee.
5. Service and
Industry Committee- Meets once a month
and will consist of Chamber members who are
in the service and industry profession. The
Service and Industry Committee will focus on
current events that will affect local service
and industry professionals, implementing communication
and act as a liaison to the service and industry
members of the Chamber. The Service and Industry
Committee will work with the Leadership and
Education Committee, hosting an all member
event that will focus on service and industry.
The focus of this committee is to ensure a
strong employment pool and balance in the economy,
providing a strong business climate for service
and industry. Atleast one Board Member will
reside on this committee.
6. Membership
and Mentorship Committee- Meets once a
month to strengthen the membership of the WCCI.
The Membership and Mentorship Committee will
follow up to new members for the first six
months of joining, ensuring the new member
attends mixers, all member events and is introduced
to other chamber members. Membership drives
will take place in the future and this committee
will coordinate such events with the Chamber
Staff. The Membership and Mentorship Committee
will deliver pertinent member information in
forms of emails or faxes. The Committee will
also work the Chamber Staff on upcoming member
events, with personal phone call reminders
to membership. The Membership and Mentorship
Committee with work with the Chamber Staff
in identifying new recruitment ideas and member
incentives, to retain and attract members.
This Committee is vital for the future of the
Woodstock Chamber of Commerce. Atleast one
Board Member will reside on this committee.
All Committees must be consisted of Woodstock Chamber of Commerce Members
and at least one Board of Director from the WCCI. The Chamber will allow
a guest or non-member to attend a meeting, though no more than three times.
The Chamber feels that after three visits, a guest or non-member is able
to make an educated decision on whether or not to join the Chamber. We certainly
hope the guest or non-member will decide to join and continue serving on
a committee. The Chamber will make available the Board Room located in the
back of the Chamber office to committees. However, the Chamber will need
to be informed three weeks in advance if you would like to reserve the Board
Room. No fee will be charged.
