1/28 - 2/2 Groundhog Days
Thanks to Bill Murray and the "Groundhog Day" movie, which was filmed in Woodstock in 1992.  Woodstock celebrates with "Lighting of the Groundhog", woodcarving demonstration, chili cook-off, dinner/dance and auction, a walking tour of filming sites, breakfast and Woodstock Willie's prognostication.

SATURDAY FARMER'S MARKET ON THE SQUARE through 10/23/10

Woodstock residents and visitors will have two markets to enjoy this summer! Every Tuesday and Saturday on the Square, beginning in May through October, shop one of the county's only authentic markets for organically, locally-grown produce, flowers, baked goods, potpourri, homemade peanut brittle and other goodies. Three weekends beginning August 1st

Celebrating its 24th season, the Woodstock Mozart Festival features international artists and conductors in orchestral and chamber works of Mozart and other composers. Performances take place at the charming and intimate restored 1880's Woodstock Opera House, an ideal setting for experiencing music as it was performed in Mozart's day.

OLD- FASH IONED HARVESTFEST/ FIDDLERS CONTEST &

FAIR IN THE SQUARE CRAFT SHOW

A day long celebration, the 15th annual Harvestfest features a

farmer's market, old-time craftspeople including weavers, spinners and quilters, vintage farm equipment, blacksmithing, woodworking, wagon rides, children's activities and a fiddlers contest for youth and adults. Also, the Fair In The Square craft show featuring crafters from all over the Midwest will sell their original, hand-crafted wares.

LIGHTING OF THE SQUARE

Christmas will officially come alive in Woodstock with a flip of the switch that will light the buildings and trees on the Square. The program starts at 7 pm . There will be caroling before and after 815/338-2436.

Christmas Parade

The Parade around the Square at 2 pm officially heralds Santa's arrival. Call the Woodstock Opera House 815/338-4212.for special holiday program information and visit the Christmas Tree Walk set up in the Opera House's Community Room.

LADIES NIGHT OUT

On the Woodstock Square and Main Street 5 to 10 p.m. Sponsored by the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce & Industry as part of the Victorian Christmas celebration. There will be limousine rides providing transportation to restaurants and merchants. While supplies last, a free long-stem red rose will be handed out from gentlemen stationed around the square to honor women. Participating restaurants will be offering dinner and drink specials, entertainment, open houses and appetizers.
