Wintrust and Classic Cinemas partner for $1 movie series
May 3, 2019 - Classic Cinemas announced today that Wintrust will be sponsoring its long-standing Wednesday
Morning Movie Series, which will now be called the Wintrust Morning Movie Series. The series runs family-friendly
movies for just $1 for 10 Wednesdays starting June 5 through August 7. Doors open at 9 a.m., and the film starts
at 10 a.m. Theatre staff and local community organizations will have activities to entertain movie-goers before
    the film starts.
Wintrust, with its more than 150 community bank locations, has a long history of neighborhood involvement.
Dennis Jones, CEO of Wintrust’s Hinsdale Bank & Trust, believes that both Wintrust and Classic Cinemas share
the goal of enhancing the quality of life in the communities they serve.
“We do that with quality banking products, exceptional local service, and sound financial advice, while Classic
Cinemas provides that same exceptional service along with top-notch picture, sound, and comfort to create an
affordable family outing,” Jones said. “Sponsoring this series provides Wintrust with another way to serve the
community by supporting family-friendly, local events. We’ve seen great success with movie meetups for
Platinum Adventures, our travel and social club for those 50 or better, and we thought this would be a fun way
during the summer to extend the idea to our Junior Savers kids club.”
As a Wintrust customer and family-owned company that grew from one theatre to 14 in the Chicago suburbs,
Classic Cinemas saw a great brand fit.
“Having that local touch is really important to me and to our guests, so it was a big deal that Wintrust shares that
philosophy as well,” said Chris Johnson, CEO and owner of Classic Cinemas. “We have staff that grew up coming
to see our Wednesday series, and now they’re planning the lobby games for a new generation.”
The Wintrust Morning Movie Series will be shown at all 14 Classic Cinemas locations. Movie-goers are
encouraged to come early as space is limited. Groups of 15 or more can reserve seats with a special group rate
of $6.50 per person, which includes admission and a discounted Kiddie Combo: popcorn, drink, and fruit
snacks. Reservation forms can be found at www.classiccinemas.com/wmms .
